I wanted like a sit or stay thing you should change it to something with harsh training vs. good or more healthy training.

    Agreed with …
Agreed with cassuisclaynyc. Let’s say you choose an obedience class and you’re planning on attending. While at these classes, it’s not only your dog that’s learning things; it’s you also, as the owner. First day at this class, look carefully at the techniques the trainers uses. If he/she mentions or wants to use choke collars, be CAREFUL. Like Eric said, you have to be careful about what you are correcting. If you don’t think the negative techniquees are right for your dog, get outta there.

  9. cassiusclaynyc Says:

    he is informing you …
he is informing you of what to expect when you do choose a trainer, which way they enforce behavior. Clearly there are times when both methods apply, he was just explaining why.

    This set of videos …
This set of videos is all about why you should not use prongs, chokes, and shock collars. It tells nothing about how to choose a dog obedience class.

    Good video…

    Good video…

I think an important concept here is this…

The only one who knows what’s being corrected is the dog.

We can think we know what we’re correcting for, but the only one that really knows is the dog.

    Well explained, nice job.
