my pitbull is fine with my other dog, cat, rabbit, and tries to bite my snake but only cuz she thinks the snake is a dog toy. knock on wood, but she has no aggressive tendencies.

Good pick for training. Bully dogs are easy to train. They tend to be very approval seeking and are big love slobs. They are also quite smart. However, you do have to watch them around other animals. They will fight. They love people but don’t trust them with other animals. For this reason, it is usually easier to just have one bull dog. Don’t let this scare you off adopting one. They are great, loving and loyal companions that are easy to train!

Great video! I’m adopting a bully breed mix (I’ll never know if he’s a pit or staffy mix) and I want to obediance train him.

    Yes, pitbulls’ …
Yes, pitbulls’ natural aggression is towards other animals but not humans. And it is more than possible to rid a pitbull of animal aggression through socializing from puppyhood.

I think that Pit Bulls could make great police dogs too. The cinnamon colored one in the video also has some protection training. A game breed Pit would make an excellent police dog. They tend to be pretty small but are very hardy and they don’t give up easily.
    Take care …

lol at ladys first u must love those dogs hey at least u have plenty of protection and also in my opinion i think pitbulls would make better police dogs 2 they would put more fear into the criminal/suspect

I have to agree with you. I’ve found that they are very easy to train. They just want approval. They are more trainable than GSD’s in my experience.

    Take care.

    Some Pit Bulls …
Some Pit Bulls don’t become animal aggressive until later in life. Animal aggression is pretty normal for Pit Bulls. Human aggression is not. Your dog may be territorial and intends to protect his property and owner. If there is any doubt, don’t let him around visitors. It’s just not worth the risk.

  16. dmgnb Says:

    he isint animal …
he isint animal agresive like ino tha much, he just doseint like straingers, like he wont just growl at them 4 noffink, if thay walk up 2 him an try an stroke him he doseint like it, or say the post man he doseint like people cumin up 2 the house, ino wha u meen tho eney over breed an it wuld be considerd ok but becose wa he is he needs wachin, an ino av seen it good show, wa he sed on 1 is i fink he is scird ov people cumin up 2 him, fanx eney way m8

  17. badolan Says:

    Pit Bulls may be …
Pit Bulls may be animal aggressive. That is pretty normal for them but they shouldn’t be people aggressive. You might want to watch “The Dog Whisperer” TV show for some pointers. You might also want to see a professional trainer. You really don’t want your dog to bite anyone. That would be bad for you and the breed in your area. We Pit Bull owners need to be much more responsible than other owners. Good luck. You can do it!

    thay are banned in …
thay are banned in england but thay arnt in irlend so thay have been importid over, an now becose thir is such a hi demand for them thay probly out number most dog breeds, well wir am from eney way, well i have 1 an he is a grate dog, exacly wa u say allways wants 2 be with you, he gets on fine with most dogs tho, he has a problem with straingers tho, culd u tell me wha tha culd be or if i culd fix it,

    Arent they banned …
Arent they banned in England? Do you mean he has a staffordshire bull terrier?

Anyway, even the ones trained to fight are not aggressive to humans, it’s one of the few breeds bred specifically to be not aggressive to humans

    I’d recommend that …
I’d recommend that you look up puppy temperament tests that are on the web. They are not 100% accurate but the do give you a pretty good idea of their personality. I tested all of our dogs and the tests worked pretty well. I would avoid shy dogs. You might want to look at several litters so that you can make comparisons. It also helps to see both the parents. With Shepherds, I’d definitely want their hip x-rayed.

i may purchase a german shepherd can you tell me what measures or procedures i should carry out to make sure the dog suitable. for a family environment? i don’t want any aggressive dogs and i have been told to buy the pup which comes to me not the timid dogs. thanks.

  22. Youidiotdude Says:

    in england my m8 …
in england my m8 has a pit, its very friendly. pits have a bad rep because of people making it badly behaved. its not the dog its the dogs owner which shapes the dogs attitude. Its quite intelligent, but i still have that fear factor of that breed being aggressive. the media portrays these dogs in a negative way. i Like most pit-bulls just not the ones trained to fight. gsd’s are the best though

  23. badolan Says:

    Pit Bulls are the …
Pit Bulls are the greatest! They are easy to train because they really want to please you. They are very affectionate and always want to be with you. They are also very healthy if they come from a game or show line of dogs. However, Pit Bulls are better off if they are the only pet in the house because many of them are animal aggressive. That is normal for them. If you get one, it’ll be better off alone. Trust me.
