Can Boxer puppies calm down without training them?
Posted on Jul 15, 2010 under training puppies | 6 CommentsMy Boxer puppy seems to have calmed down without us training him. He was one of the worst puppies we have had but he acts alot better then he did.
As puppies get older, they can lose some of the boisterousness and general ‘puppyishness’ of their early months. But whether he’s calmed down or not, you still need to train your puppy; don’t think for one moment that being calm is the same as being trained.

Just like humans, it’s maturity
It also may be more secure in the house you live in then it did when it was younger. It just takes some time for everything to blend in as "home" and not some scray evil labratory.
Also when dogs grow they lose their ecstatic never tired puppy attitude.
still, you should train it. A young puppy will pull at the leash and will chew on furniture, and other stuff too!

They will likely calm down but that doesn’t mean that they are going to mind!!

ditto: well-behaved doesn’t equate to being calmer. he still needs to learn certain basic things, like sit, stay, come, don’t jump up, etc. and he can only learn this by your working with him. They aren’t psychic and your yelling the same instructions repeatedly aren’t going to get him to understand.
