Does anyone have any ideas of what I could give my 13 week old Lhasa Apso puppy as a training reward?

We are going to puppy training classes on Monday and we don’t know what to give her as a treat when at the classes?

Since chocolate is poison for dogs, i suggest you not take the first suggestion.

ask the trainer but I think any of the smaller reward treats you find in any good pet store will suffice.

mix it up between verbal rewards "good girl’
food rewards such as chicken, liver treats, lamb etc
and play rewards like a ball and toy or just petting her

this way she wont expect a food reward everytime she does something and she will be more likely to listen to you when you dont have any treats

Much of the time treat training is ineffective. Treats should only be given every once in a blue moon for training. I just gave my dogs lots of praise and attention, hugs, kisses, etc. That works very well.

I would give him a treat – a special one just for training – not like a usual bisquit if you give him one that during the day for like "sit" etc! A special kind,,,,,,

Praise. Your dog will work for you, not for a treat. I hope you would plan on eliminating the treats in the future, so why not just not use them. By using treats with the intention of phasing them out in the future, you end up having to train your dog twice.

Check with the trainer. Some provide treats as part of the training.
The treats should be small and easy for your dog to eat. Small peices of string cheese, hot dogs etc. work great. The treat can also be a favorite toy and/or praise. All dogs are different.
Peanut butter in a syringe tube/container is a great treat for training your dog to heel.
Do not listen to anyone that tells you treats are no good as a training method. Positive reinforcement (operant conditioning) has been scientifically proven to be the best way to train dogs.

My dogs do not like doggy treats. The only ones they will eat are "got chicken" or "pure bites". Only ingredient is the dried meat.
