What’s the best age to start obedience training for puppies?

Right around 16 weeks is good, after all vaccinations have been completed including the Rabies vaccine. You may also want to consider the Bordatella vaccine for Kennel Cough, as that is transmitted airborne.
Add: Oops, I may have read more into your question. I thought you were talking about obedience classes. That’s the reason for my answer. If you are talking about general home training, training starts from day one. You can add different commands after each different command is going pretty good. Don’t forget that the most two important commands that a dog can ever learn is the come and stay command. It could be life saving some day.

It’s never to early to start teaching rules and boundaries and increasing the training as he ages. Why not start now?

ours was the same age and we took him to school,for us it was better sooner than later.He is now very well behaved and it was well worth the money

Puppy class as soon as she has had all her shots and can mix with other puppies… Socialization at Frost, moving on to obedience training v quickly

Simple commands is training. Once the puppy is with you there is no "too early" to teach him house rules. Once he knows basic commands you can slowly build on it. Keep on training him consistently, try to make it fun, and he will reward you with good behavior and lots of love.

At my training school I take my puppy to Dog basics.co. uk
take that puppy’s first from the time they have had there vaccinations for puppy class and then at six months then they start obedience class.

You should start right away, it doesn’t take money to do it either. Just tell him/her no, do a light smack on the nose when done something wrong, like biting, begging, or pooping in the house. I have trained my dog, Sici, when she was 11 weeks old, because she was a gift. And it only took me two weeks to get in her head not to bite, and not to poop in the house! as sonn as he/she has had all vaccinations and can socialise with other dogs. there are usually classes nearby to take them to learn to mix with others. always visit first and make sure they are registered! i have new puppy of 8 weeks old and 7 month old. i am teaching him to sit and wait for his food,also before he goes outside and comes back in again. never too early! although i must say i have Beagles and they can be a stubborn breed of dog (or should i say that they have selective hearing if they have a scent to follow!!). My lab started at 4 months old and he did well. (Although some of the sessions were outdoors and there were a couple of times when he tried to chase butterflies instead of paying attention).

The minute the dog comes into your household…They watch everything you do…Use hand commands along with voice commands…This will help when there is too much noise or if they get deaf or blind…This allows safety in both ways…..Be consistant and follow thru immediately when you command the dog

Right now is a very good time to start! Also socialize him like crazy, with dogs and other people. My pup is four months and was 2 months when we got him, he’s learned a lot of commands/tricks since we got him. I think puppies tend to absorb things easily at that age.

i started training my dog as soon as i got her @ 6 weeks old , she was already sitting when we brought her home , , she was paper trained already as well ,i started the lead work around 8 weeks old , walking her around the house ,i had her laying down real quick ,i think around 9-10 week ,
its never to young to start training , but no jumps ect till 6 months ,
my lil one had already learned how to jump before then as i use up to jump into my arms ,in to get her in my my car ,
make it fun , and use treats if need be,.
i did not need to use treats ,
i was , grr still am with my dogs 24/7 and still teaching my dog , but she knows most of what i want her to know ,
i am not going to train a circus dog , my dog is a hunter and only needs a few commands
make it fun , that IS the main bit
and it never too young to learn
